Beating Retreat on Horse Guards Parade Pinterest

Witness a traditional evening of military pageantry with the Royal Marines Beating Retreat in the historic settings of the Horse Guards Parade.

In celebration of the Duke of Edinburgh’s birthday, the Massed Bands of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines are putting on a display of traditional and contemporary music, military drill and colour, with 250 musicians performing in front of royal guests.

Hear a fantastic drum display performed by the Royal Marines Corps of Drums, watch 100 Royal Marines Commandos take part in a ceremonial drill, and experience the spectacular Naval Sunset Ceremony which concludes the evening – all projected on two giant screens so you don’t miss a moment.

The First Sea Lord will be taking the salute on 25 May, and the Captain General of the Royal Marines, the Duke of Edinburgh, takes the salute on 26 May.
