Shakespeare’s famous tragedy Macbeth is brought to the atmospheric stage of the Globe Theatre in an intense new production, with Emma Rice at her first season as Artistic Director.

After the three witches tell him he is fated to occupy the throne of Scotland, Macbeth becomes the instrument of his destiny and embarks on a bloody path of killings and betrayals. With the support of Lady Macbeth, he takes part in a terrifying series of murders in order to gain the power he is destined to have.

An investigation of the supra-natural and the evil of human greed, Macbeth is a must-see in Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre’s 2016 season, as the theatre celebrates the 400th anniversary of the playwright’s death.
