Take a look inside the historic Houses of Parliament on one of the Suffragette Tours

Inspired by the success of the Suffragette film, which stars Carey Mulligan, Anne-Marie Duff and Meryl Streep and features scenes filmed at Westminster, the Houses of Parliament are offering Suffragette-themed tours of the House of Commons, House of Lords and Westminster Hall.

Take the whole family on a Votes for Women one-hour guided tour and themed activities, ideal for children aged seven and over. Tours begin at 1.30pm and 3pm on every Saturday in February and March, as well as Tuesday 16 February, 29 March and 5 April.

For a more in-depth account of the role played by women in parliament, opt for the 90-minute Petitions to Prime Minister: A Short History of Women in Parliament tour led by a blue-badge guide. Starting at 1pm, this guided tour runs on Saturdays throughout February and March, as well as on Wednesdays 17 February, 30 March and 6 April.
