About

See the Royal Ballet perform Shakespeare’s tale of love and loss, as the Royal Opera House stages The Winter’s Tale.

This passionate performance tells the story of King Leontes who, through all-consuming jealousy, wrongly accuses his pregnant wife Hermione of adultery and orders her baby, Perdita, to be abandoned. Distraught, Hermione dies and on discovery of her innocence Leontes is overcome with grief and guilt.

Find out what happens to the young Perdita and the king in this modern ballet created by Christopher Wheeldon.

This event is part of the Shakespeare400 celebrations, marking 400 years since Shakespeare’s death.
