Funny Girl at Savoy Theatre

About

After a sold out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Funny Girl, starring multi-award-winning stage and screen star Sheridan Smith, transfers to Savoy Theatre.

This modern classic is based on the bitter-sweet story of Fanny Brice (Smith) and her rise to Broadway fame amidst a stormy relationship with gambler Nicky Arnstein. Based on the book by Isobel Lennart with revisions by Harvey Fierstein, this much-loved tale has all the passion and laughs of the original production which helped catapult Barbra Streisand to global renown.

Prepare to sing your heart out as the iconic Jule Styne and Bob Merrill score returns with songs including Don't Rain on My Parade, People, and You Are Woman, I Am Man.

Broadway heavyweight Michael Mayer (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Spring Awakening) directs what promises to be one of the must-see musicals this summer.

Director:
Michael Mayer
