About

Be one of the very first people to gaze upon King Henry V’s Crystal Sceptre at the Guildhall Art Gallery.

The ornate sceptre was given to the City of London by King Henry V as a thank you for financing his campaign at the battle of Agincourt in 1415. To mark the 600th anniversary of the historic battle, the sceptre, gleaming with gold, crystals, jewels and pearls, is unveiled to the public for the first time. A small Book of Hours and the Hedon Mace weapon used during the battle go on display alongside the king’s gift.
