About

Experience the charm of one of Shakespeare’s most likeable comedies as the National Theatre stages As You Like It after an absence of more than 30 years.

Starring Rosalie Craig, the pastoral play tells the story of a couple of young women and cousins Rosalind and Celia. When Rosalind’s father, the Duke, is banished and exiled, the intrepid cousins leave the safety of the court and embark on a journey to the Forest of Arden. Away from the conventions and rules of her home life, Rosalind goes through some life-changing experiences. Disguising herself as a boy, she inadvertently becomes entangled in a romantic plot that, inevitably, sees her falling completely in love.

Joyous, charming and uplifting, this thoughtful tale of love and transformation is a celebration of youthful adventure that’s as fresh and relevant today as it ever was.
