About

See the new retrospective, Night Shift: London After Dark at the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden. This exhibition celebrates the nocturnal side of London and night time travel during the last century.

Retro posters, photographs and archival film footage tell the story of late night culture and London’s often forgotten night workers. The exhibition features some rare publicity material dating back to 1909 which was designed to entice pleasure seekers to travel to theatres, cinemas, and bars. It also reveals how people sheltered in Underground stations during the Second World War and chart the fascinating role that London’s transport system has played in shaping London’s identity as a contemporary 24-hour city.
