About

One of Europe’s finest orchestras comes to London with a concert series exploring the tone poems of the great Romantic composer, Richard Strauss. From Macbeth to Nietzsche’s Thus spoke Zarathustra, Strauss shapes stories from myth, literature and philosophy into glorious soundscapes.

Conductor Riccardo Chailly pairs these poems with Mozart concertos, performed by internationally acclaimed soloists, and there is also a special new commission for families: When The Moon Rises…You Learn To Fly! Inspired by the music of the composer, this touching concert follows the adventures of a sleeping boy as he dreams. As Strauss knew better than anyone, you’re never too young for a good story.
