See Kenneth Branagh in Harlequinade at the Garrick Theatre in London this autumn.
In this rarely seen comic gem, a classical theatre company attempts to produce The Winter's Tale and Romeo and Juliet while the intrigues and dalliances of the company members are accidently revealed with increasingly chaotic and hysterical consequences.
A comic behind-the-scences world takes centre stage in Terence Rattigan's Harlequinade, an affectionate celebration of the lunatic art of putting on a play. Kenneth Branagh will perform as Harlequinade's actor-manager Arthur Gosport and co-direct with Rob Ashford.
As part of a never-before-seen Rattigan double-bill, Zoë Wanamaker will debut Rattigan's dramatic monologue All On Her Own before each performance of Harlequinade.
The first season of the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company promises a year of unmissable theatre as West End stars John Dagleish (Sunny Afternoon), Tom Bateman (Shakespeare in Love), Jessie Buckley (Henry V) and verteran actor John Shrapnel (Julius Caesar) join the Harlequinade cast.
