World-class track cycling returns to London this December when Great Britain's Olympic and world champions take on the rest of the world's cycling stars at the second round of the 2014/15 UCI Track Cycling World Cup.
The atmosphere will be electric as the world's best cyclists come together at Lee Valley VeloPark's velodrome at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park again. With world championships and Rio 2016 Olympic Games qualifying points up for grabs, spectators can look forward to a weekend of exciting racing at this iconic venue.
In the lead up to the London event, Great Britain are performing well having won two gold and a silver medal at first round of the recent UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico. There were gold medals for the women's team pursuit with Laura Trott, Ciara Horne, Elinor Barker and Amy Roberts and the men's team sprint with Philip Hindes, Jason Kenny and Callum Skinner. Jon Dibben, Steven Burke, Mark Christian and Andy Tennant took silver in the men's team pursuit.
A strong Great Britain team will be fielded for the event, including Phil Hindes, Jason Kenny, Steve Burke, Ed Clancy, Joanna Rowsell and Laura Trott, who are all set to return to the venue where they were crowned Olympic champions.
Come along and support the Great Britain Cycling Team as they return for the first time since the London 2012 Olympic Games to do battle with the world’s best track cyclists once more. The competition runs over three days (Friday 5- Sunday 7 December) with qualifying and finals sessions each day. Tickets are selling fast but there is still time to secure your place at this fantastic event by heading to Ticketmaster.
