Encounter striking art from Latin America and Spain as the work of sculptor Xavier Mascaro goes on display at the Saatchi Gallery.
One of the brightest stars in his field, Mascaro presents creations from his Guardians series: giant metallic works that are up to nine feet tall.
Rusting and imposing, yet also featuring ornate details, the oversized creations are designed to evoke the feel of both medieval armour and the visuals of ancient Greek and Egyptian art.
Complementing these works are sculptures from the artist's Spanish and Mexican workshops; including a series of face reliefs using different materials that define varying facial expressions.
Rounding off the display is the Departure series, in which Mascaro cleverly uses metalworks to conjure up the spirit of long lost shipwrecks.
Both haunting and bold, this is a chance to witness the stunning work of a master artist and craftsman.
