Discover a small part of France in the middle of London, as Borough Market and Bankside are magically transformed to celebrate Bastille Day.
The eighth annual festival in honour of France’s national day, this glorious celebration of French food, drink and culture is a real treat for all the family.
Magicians and street performers keep the party atmosphere going as intrepid visitors can toddle around the market sampling some of the finest food and drink from across the channel, ranging from crêpes to comté cheese.
Live music accompanies activities and games, which of course includes boules. A guillotine from the London Tombs marks the true spirit of the French revolution, which began with the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789.
The festivities are set to go on well into the night in true French style with the Bal Populaire, a traditional party that’s held out in the open.
