The race will ensure the very toughest ocean conditions, with the most technologically advanced speed and endurance boats battling against the elements. The following two weeks will see the fleet race visit nine cities, culminating with the race finishing in Monte Carlo.
At 9.30am on Saturday 7 June, The Venture Cup fleet will roar across the Greenwich Meridian to take the ceremonial start flag in front of thousands of spectators before a full 'hot start' at Southend. From Wednesday 4 June as well as the day of the race, the Venture Cup fanzone will be open to the public in St Katharine Docks. The race fleet will arrive on Wednesday and be on full static display alongside an international comedy festival, colourful stalls, delightful arts installations and tantalising food and beverage stands. Greenwich Meridian is the perfect nautical backdrop for the race start, home to the Cutty Sark, the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory, Sir Christopher Wren's Old Royal Naval College as well as Greenwich Mean Time.
