Catch the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC)’s production of Shakespeare’s epic wartime play, Henry IV Part I, part of King and Country: Shakespeare’s Great Cycle of Kings series at the Barbican.

Following its premiere in Stratford-upon-Avon and a UK tour, this production by Artistic Director Gregory Doran and the brilliant RSC creative team sees the return of Antony Sher as the notorious comic knight Falstaff, Jasper Britton as Henry IV and Alex Hassell as Prince Hal.

With enemies at home and abroad, King Henry IV prepares for a war to protect his crown. However, his son, Prince Hal is notably absent. Instead of assisting with the preparations, Hal is lurking in the taverns and brothels of London with his companion, the famously disreputable Sir John Falstaff. With war imminent, will Hal be able to live up to his duty for both family and throne?

This play is part of King and Country: Shakespeare’s Great Cycle of Kings, RSC’s four-play cycle which marks the 400th anniversary of the playwright’s death. Tickets are also available to watch the complete cycle including Richard II, Henry IV Part I, Henry IV Part II and Henry V.
