The real life story of Made in Dagenham is brought to the Adelphi Theatre. Following in the footsteps of the successful film of the same title, this new stage incarnation features Hollywood actress Gemma Arterton. The uplifting musical about friendship, love and fighting for what you believe in is based on the infamous story of the Ford Dagenham plant. Set in 1968, it recounts the time when women working at the factory were told that they were to be dropped a pay grade and classed as unskilled. Rita OGrady (Arterton) is determined to fight this injustice and leads her friends into a battle against the car giant Ford. As their inspiring action escalates, they face terrible pressure and disruption to their lives as they fight for what is right. Funny and moving, the story is an uplifting demonstration of what people can achieve when they stand together against adversity.
