About

Commander Matt Kowalski, a veteran of the space program on his final mission, provides encouragement to fellow astronaut Shariff and specialist Dr Ryan Stone, who is in space for the first time to attend to the Hubble Telescope. A Russian missile strike on a defunct satellite creates a debris cloud that rips apart the Space Shuttle Explorer, killing Shariff and hurtling Stone into the inky void of space.
