About

See the UK’s first retrospective of work by German painter and sculptor Anselm Kiefer at The Royal Academy of Arts.

The artist has recently been made an Honorary Royal Academician in light of his work that chimes so well with that of past masters. Described as highly erudite, his relationship with art of the past – and indeed with history itself – is evident throughout his creations.

This ambitious retrospective features work across all areas, from books, drawings, watercolours and paintings to sculptures and installations. Covering his creative output from the early days to more recent efforts, this exhibition looks to present him as an artist who continues to strive for fresh challenges while producing new pieces.

VIP tickets are available, which include entry to the 4pm exhibition slot, a complimentary audio guide and a beer or glass of wine in the newly opened Members Space - Keeper's House.
