Lenny Henry stars in a stage version of BBC Radio 4 sitcom, Rudy’s Rare Records, at the Hackney Empire in East London.
The BBC Radio 4 comedy is written by Danny Robins and stars the versatile comedian and actor, Lenny Henry. Rudy’s Rare Records is a small, old fashioned record shop in Birmingham, piled high with vinyl records, and in danger of being the last of its kind. Greedy developers threaten to ruin the livelihoods of both Rudy, the bad-tempered owner, and his son. The duo battle to save their eccentric business by putting aside their differences and joining forces to keep the music alive. Full of charm and laughter, this feel good comedy also features a live band who play reggae, ska, funk and hip hop classics.
