Kew Gardens celebrates 50 Whipple-Scrumptious Years of Charlie and Willy Wonka with family fun and games.
Based on Roald Dahl’s magical book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, visitors can get stuck into themed arts and crafts workshops that relate to the eccentric sweet factory owner and his adventures with the poor Charlie Bucket.
The activities are based on the four main Chocolate Factory rooms featured in the book and offer all sorts of delights to participants. You can choose from making your own Willy Wonka chocolate bar, devising new recipes with the Oompa Loompas in the Inventing Room or even listen to some Roald Dahl Revolting Rhymes as read by the resident storytellers.
With an Easter Egg hunt also thrown into the mix, this is a sweet way to mark 50 years of a great children’s book.
