Overview

Innovative, multi-disciplinary art and design experts United Visual Artists have been working on a new project, Momentum, at the Barbican Centre.

The specially commissioned work is an immersive installation that combines light, sound and movement.

With physics and digital technology used as inspiration, the venue has been turned into a spatial instrument, with a series of pendulum-like elements installed throughout the 90 metre long gallery.

The pendulums – all moving in different ways – project shadows and shapes across the area, inviting guests to explore the creations in their own time.

With the visitor’s point of view being an essential ingredient of the work, this unique concept is one that will strike a different chord with each individual visitor, ensuring that no two experiences are exactly the same.
