The year is 1947 and African-American players are yet to be introduced to the highly lucrative Major League Baseball. Branch Rickey, the trailblazing General Manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, challenges the establishment and the mood of the time by signing Jackie Robinson. With the number 42 on his shirt, Robinson lets his talent speak for him on the field and he gradually wins over fans and team mates, paving the way for other players to join him in the Major League.
