James Blunt at Royal Albert Hall

James Blunt was first brought to public attention in 2005 when he released his debut album Back To Bedlam, which featured iconic singles You're Beautiful and Goodbye My Lover. Accompanying his folksy vocal style is a variety of instruments including piano, guitar, organ, marimba, and mellotron. Though he has always been musically talented it has not always been his first love, before the release of Back To Bedlam he was a commissioned officer in the British Army. He rose to the rank of Captain, served as a NATO peacekeeper in Kosovo and was on duty for the funeral of the Queen Mother in 2002. He is currently signed to Linda Perry's label Custard and became the first British artist to top the American singles chart in nearly a decade, when his first single You're Beautiful reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2006. The last British artist to do so had been Elton John in 1997 with the song Candle in the Wind. He is now touring performing songs from his debut album and second album All The Lost Souls, which was released in 2007.
