A wealth of words from the great and the good of literature as Richmond becomes an essential destination for lovers of reading and writing.

Now in its 22nd year, the festival has become a benevolent beast that takes up the whole of November with events springing up at venues across the borough.

The main programme boasts a varied line up of authors, commentators and leading figures from the world of journalism, television, food, history and politics.

Confirmed to appear to discuss their latest literary efforts are the likes of Sir Max Hastings, Charles Moore (author of the recent Margaret Thatcher biography) and Daisy Waugh.

With events for young readers, cocktails and beer for the slightly older ones and even contemporary art workshops (many taking place at prestigious heritage locations) there really is something for bookworms of all tastes.
