Overview

Chess master Pat Henderson hosts a tournament in a hotel, at the end of which, one lucky entrant will play him in the final showdown. Programmer and psychologist Martin Beuscher is in attendance with his junior assistant Peter Bishton, hoping to fine-tune his software update to play faster and smarter than human players. Meanwhile, Peter casts adoring glances at the competition's first female player, Shelly Flintic, and eccentric genius Michael Papageorge leaves chaos in his wake as he pursues a wayward path through the tournament draw.
