This May Hurt a Bit at St James Theatre

An ambitious new play written by Stella Feehily, This May Hurt a Bit takes an interesting look at one of the UK’s best-loved and most fiercely debated institutions: the National Health Service (NHS).

Exploring one family’s journey through the digestive system of the NHS, this political comedy follows the suffering and treatment of a man who is in and out of hospital due to his unruly prostate and his ageing mother.

Incorporating everything from lost medical notes, mysterious stains, bodily malfunctions and even romance, this is an entertaining yet biting look at the health service. Audiences are asked to consider the question: "is the NHS a terminal case?"
