New Order II: British Art Today at Saatchi Gallery

From to

The Saatchi Gallery presents New Order II: British Art Today. Following in the footsteps of the last show, this vibrant exhibition is a showcase of work from some of the most promising up and coming artists of the moment.

Reflecting different aspects of British life, the eclectic mix of work includes thought provoking offerings from 13 relatively new talents. Highlights include efforts from Virgile Ittah, whose Regarding the Pain of the Other is a mixed wax and marble powder figure leaning onto an antique church chair. The French artist’s work tends to explore the concepts of isolation and nostalgia, using the body as a canvas to raise questions about the nature of experience. Looking to blur the boundaries between past and present, her site specific works also fuse fantasy and reality.
