The classic fairy tale of The Sleeping Beauty is brought to life in style at the Royal Opera House. Journey with The Royal Ballet to an enchanted world of princesses, fairy godmothers and magic spells in the great ballet by Marius Petipa.
Set to the legendary score by Tchaikovsky, it tells the story of a young princess who is cursed by a witch to prick her finger on a spindle and fall into a 100-year sleep. Despite efforts to prevent this disaster, the witch succeeds in her plans and the princess falls into the sleep, presumed dead. Her only hope is to be awakened by the kiss of a handsome prince, who arrives to inadvertently rescue her a century later, assisted by the magical Lilac Fairy.
With magical choreography and mesmerising production, this is a colourful and memorable take on the eternally engaging ballet.
