London’s West End will become a traffic-free destination every Sunday throughout July as part of the Summer Streets programme in partnership with the Mayor of London.

Regent Street will offer more than retail therapy over the four consecutive traffic-free Sundays, with visitors being able to partake in a range of activities, from zumba to hoola hoop workshops.

Relax and experience London without traffic, make the most of more than 75 international flagship fashion stores located on the street and enjoy a creative programme of events including;

•Sunday 7 July – Action / Play: take part in group exercise or marvel at the circus acts

•Sunday 14 July – Senses: indulge your senses; enjoy food and drink sampling, aural flash mobs and other sensory delights

•Sunday 21 July – Fashion: in partnership with the V&A, a 100 metre long catwalk will be installed for a Dress to Impress day

•Sunday 28 July – Garden: gardeners and florists will decorate Regent Street, adding a colourful touch to its impressive aesthetic. Expect picnic blankets, benches and cushions for a laid-back London park experience

Summer Streets is the first of its kind in the UK, originally inspired by the Mayor’s Air Quality Strategy and a similar initiative in New York City.
