Celebrate all things Canadian as one of London’s favourite free summer festivals, Canada Day, returns to Trafalgar Square this July.
The huge one-day festival, which is now in its 8th year, will celebrate Canada’s 146th birthday by demonstrating the best of Canadian music, sport, art, culture, tourism, business, food and drink to Londoners, Canadians and other visitors from all around the world.
Some of the country’s best musical artists will perform at the festival, including headliners Jann Arden, Arkells and The Tragically Hip.
Sports fans can watch Canadians showcasing their hockey skills, as eight teams compete for the Trafalgar Cup in the road hockey tournament.
Plus, the Taste of Canada culinary programme will launch this year with appearances by some of the country’s top chefs and food stalls offering visitors a taste of Canadian cuisine.
Other activities throughout the day will include face painting for kids, yoga classes, appearances by Royal Canadian Mounted Police and much more!
London’s Canada Day celebrations are the largest outside of Canada and in 2012 attracted more than 90,000 people.
