Open Garden Squares allows you to take a peek behind the closed gates of more than 200 London gardens.
Hidden grassy gems from the historic and traditional to the new and experimental are opened up to the public over this weekend, including private gardens, roof gardens, community allotments, urban wildlife and ecology centres, as well as gardens belonging to historic buildings, institutions, restaurants, schools and shops.
Many of the gardens provide stalls, music, entertainment, family and art activities as well as food and drink.
This year opens up 20 new gardens to the public across the capital, from small community gardens and pop-up ventures to more established green spaces.
Explore a mature walled garden at St Angela’s Ursuline School in Newham, hit the heights of The Nomura Building’s sustainable roof garden in The City of London or learn about beekeeping at Bee Urban in Kennington.
Football lovers, meanwhile, will delight in exploring the modern garden amidst art deco surrounds at Highbury Square in Islington, the former home of Premier League club Arsenal.
