Every month a group of dedicated artists gathers at Chelsea Physic Garden where they have exclusive rights to select any plants in the garden for careful study or to sketch, draw or paint on the spot. These members of the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society are following in the footsteps of the most renowned botanical artist Georg Dionysius Ehret (1708-1770) and other celebrated 18th century botanical artists who worked in this garden and travelled across the world to record plants and create fascinating works of art.

Treasures from a hidden garden: Plant portraits by the Florilegium Society presents a rare opportunity to view a selection of the society’s exquisite botanical paintings and drawings.
