Outrageous comedy as The Full Monty takes to the stage at the Noel Coward Theatre.
Based on the hit film of 1997, this is the story of a group of unemployed steel workers who find a novel way to earn a living. When the industrial decline of the ‘80s leaves them with nothing to do but sign on the dole (unemployment benefits), the group of friends decide to try their hand at becoming male strippers. Overcoming embarrassment, reluctance and a lack of dancing skill, the group find themselves in hilarious situations as they try to perfect their shocking act. Striving for the full monty, where they end up completely naked on stage, the gang endure hilarity and heartache as they try and survive in a whole city that’s on the dole.
Written by Oscar winner Simon Beaufoy and featuring catchy tunes from the likes of Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.
