Overview

After months at sea, sailor Francis Delbuchi hits the road bound for Detroit, where he will be reunited with his wife Annie and the child he has never seen. En route, he meets ex-con Max Millan, who is bound for Pittsburgh in search of a brighter future. Max listens to Francis's story and persuades the former seamen to use all of the money he saved to finance a car wash business in which they will be joint partners. The two men head for Pittsburgh to realise this modest dream but their plans turn sour in Denver.
