Overview

Fifteen-year-old Billy is bullied by his older brother Jud, harangued by his slightly deranged PE teacher and emotionally suffocated by his earthy mother. An underachiever in class and a serial daydreamer, he finds salvation from his dreary everyday life in the shape of an injured baby kestrel which he nurses back to health and trains to respond to his calls.
