This Easter children go free with a full paying adult. So you can bring the whole family to step back in time and enjoy the last chance to ride London’s only working steam locomotive before it returns in December. Inside the museum you can see the enormous Cornish Engines in steam. Charles Dickens visited in 1850 and was so impressed that he called one of the engines a ‘monster’. Each day over the Easter weekend, there is a family Easter egg hunt. When you are hunting, see if you can spot the two black museum cats and the goldfish living at the bottom of a steam engine. There will also be family craft sessions for children to make Easter bonnets, top hats, boaters and engine drivers’ caps.
