Explore the integral role women performed within the Victorian art world, as artists, models and patrons, and within artistic movements such as Pre-Raphaelitism, Aestheticism and Symbolism. Examine their contributions as artists, looking at their opportunities, work and obstacles. The seminar will focus on the work of 'The Three Graces', Marie Spartali Stillman, Aglaia Coronio and Maria Zambaco, and explore their artistic relationships with fellow artists of both sexes.
