Richard DeDomenici: Anarchitecture in the UK at The Chelsea Theatre
Overview
Richard DeDomenici proposes that the punk movement had little to do with Malcolm Maclaren or Vivienne Westwood, and everything to do with the psychogeographical effect of the World's End Estate. In this project he explores the rise and fall of modernism and punk, through a series of lectures, workshops and artistic intervention in the World's End Estate, in collaboration with students from the nearby Chelsea academy. DeDomenici makes work that is social, playful, critical, political and beautiful, although rarely simultaneously. Over the past decade he has have made installations, outdoor performances, work for theatre, television shows, and educational projects in 18 countries.
