Overview
King of quirk Wes Anderson returns to live action film with Moonrise Kingdom after 2009's Fantastic Mr. Fox. Set on a remote New England island in the 60s, the film tells the story of a 12-year-old boy scout who falls in love with an island resident. Together they make a pact to run away together, in the process sparking an island-wide search from the scour brigade, island authorities and the girl's family. Told with Anderson's trademark black humour and boasting an all-star cast including Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton and Jason Schwartzman, Moonrise Kingdom is a sweet, charming and irreverent take on growing up and falling in love.
