Overview

HG Wells' fantastic account of life on the moon is vividly brought to the screen by special effects master Ray Harryhausen in a science-fiction epic featuring unforgettable extra-terrestrial creatures. The film begins with a team of UN astronauts planning a moon mission, but the astronauts are both confused and intrigued by Edward Judd who claims he journeyed to the moon 65 years previously, only to be attacked by grotesque ant forms living in immense crystal caverns.
