Overview

The Green Chorus is a Japanese women’s choir formed more than 30 years ago in Golders Green, London and is a regular participant of Japanese Festivals, at the Southbank Centre and various other venues.

For this special Lunchtime recital, the Green Chorus will perform a mixed programme of Japanese and Western songs including Sakura (Cherry Blossom), one of the best known Japanese melodies outside of Japan.

The Green Chorus will also introduce Hana-wa-saku (Flowers are blooming), created as a rehabilitation support song for the sufferers of the Great East Japan Earthquake that struck the country on 11 March 2011.
