Sergio Tiempo: Various Composers at Queen Elizabeth Hall

Overview

Sergio Tiempo's programme is inspired by his recent fatherhood. Each of the pieces represents the personality of a different member of his family, including Villa Lobos' A Prole do bebê for his little daughter. Brahms: Intermezzo in B minor op.119 No.1; Beethoven: Piano Sonata in F minor op.57 'Appassionata'; Debussy: Reflets dans l'eau, No.1 from Images, Set 1; Prokofiev: The Young Juliet, Montagues and Capulets and Dance of the girls with the Lilies and Mercutio from 10 Pieces from Romeo and Juliet for piano op.75; Chopin: Selection of Etudes; Villa-Lobos: Branquinha, Moreninha, A Pobresinha and O Polichinello from A Prole do bebê Book1; Piazzolla: Fuga y Misterio; and Ginastera: Malambo from Estancia.
