Overview

Treat mum to a day out at WWT London Wetland Centre on Mothers' Day, complete with a four-course lunch.

Start the day with a relaxing stroll among the lakes, gardens and pools, looking out for the early spring flowers that add a splash of colour to the nature reserve.

Visit the colourful birds and playful otters in the conservation collection, World Wetlands.

After a gentle walk, enjoy a welcome strawberry daiquiri in the Water's Edge Room, then a selection of hors d'oeuvre followed by a four-course plated lunch. Mouthwatering ham hock terrine or watercress soup is followed by a choice of salmon coulibiac, char-grilled chicken supreme or butternut squash, spinach and goat's cheese wellington. Save room for the delicious Dutch apple crumble, chocolate tart or brandy snap fruit basket.

As well as delicious food, the Mothers' Day lunch also includes a gift for every mum and live music with singer Verona Chard and Chris Neill.
