Overview
This legendary black comedy about 1950s Hollywood is a tale of humiliation, exploitation and dashed dreams. A feckless, bankrupt screenwriter (Holden) hides up in the gothic mansion of a faded movie star (Swanson). Living in the past with her ex-director butler von Stroheim in tow, she is high on hopes of a comeback and heading for outright insanity.
