Metropolis at Prince Charles Cinema

Overview
Fritz Lang's dystopia is a socio-political allegory and a powerful redemptive love story. In the mechanised city of Metropolis, society is thoroughly divided in two: the rich enjoy a luxurious life on the top floor, while the oppressed workers toil in the ground below. When Freder (Gustav Frohlich) ventures into the depths in search of the beautiful Maria (Brigitte Helm), plans of rebellion are revealed and a Maria-replica robot is programmed by mad inventor Rotwang (Rudolf Klein-Rogge) and master of Metropolis Joh Fredersen (Alfred Abel) to incite the workers into a self-destructive riot.
