A rare opportunity to get a live close-up view of the surface of the sun with the chance to see its famous sunspots and flares. The surface of this seething ball of nuclear energy will be displayed live on-screen using special equipment. Using solar telescopes visitors can see the sunspots, prominences and flares on the sun’s surface safely. There will also be recordings of solar events that directly affect life and weather here on Earth and experts will be on-hand to explain the complex lifecycle of our closest star.
