Verdi Special at London Jewish Cultural Centre
Overview
In 2013 we shall be celebrating the bicentenary of two operatic giants - Wagner and Verdi. Verdi was a man of great moral probity throughout is long life and it is only right that we should devote a day to the memory of Italy’s greatest composer. In the morning Patrick Bade will offer a survey of Verdi’s life and career with plentiful images and recorded extracts from Verdi’s works. In the afternoon he will concentrate on Verdi’s breakthrough masterpiece 'Nabucco' which is shortly to be broadcast from the Met in New York with Placido Domingo in the title role. Be sure not to miss what promises to be one of the crowning achievements of this great singer’s career.
