Set in the 1940s as a young Yorkshire singer Maggie Brown moves to London in search of fame. She auditions at every cabaret bar, with her songwriter George, but nobody wants their act. Everything changes when Maggie and George are picked up by the wealthy nightclub owner Sir Frank. Soon the shocking 'Miss Nightingale' explodes onto the stage, and takes the West End by storm.
