Sadler’s Sampled is a brand new annual event presenting world-class dance to larger audiences, with standing tickets available for spectators to get closer to the action and activities in the foyer before and after each show. The first production in the season features some of Sadler’s Wells’ most highly acclaimed works from three of our Associate Artists. A masterpiece of modern dance, Russell Maliphant's 'AfterLight (Part One)' was inspired by Vaslav Nijinsky's drawings and hailed as a defining part of Maliphant’s career when it premiered at Sadler's Wells in 2009. It went on to win two National Dance Awards and received an Oliver Award nomination. Celebrated contemporary choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui presents his beautiful duet, 'Faun', a reinvention of Nijinsky's famous ballet, 'L'après-midi d'un faune'. It returns after stunning critics and audiences in 2009's In the Spirit of Diaghilev. 'UNDANCE' is a unique collaboration between acclaimed composer Mark-Anthony Turnage, choreographer Wayne McGregor and visual artist Mark Wallinger. Danced by the ten incredible performers of Wayne McGregor | Random Dance, 'UNDANCE' premiered at Sadler’s Wells in 2011.
