Overview

Kieslowski repeatedly spoke of his admiration for Loach's portrait of a teenage boy who, in finding and training a kestrel, discovers a world far more rewarding than the restraints placed upon him by family, school and unemployment. What appealed was the way the film effortlessly transcends its documentary-like realist surface.
